Above, we present the gorgeous kimono-like top Whitney wore on her first day at DVF. Fashionable? Yes. And for the record, if Whitney missed the yellow-is-out memo, she's among great company. Below, check out Hills girls, Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge, plus The City's Olivia Palermo, showing off their fave lemony looks.
Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port didn't always see eye-to-eye at DVF -- but now that Olivia's moving on to Elle, she's hoping to leave the workplace drama behind. "For me, the most important thing is to be professional and focus on the magazine," the City star told the NY Daily News. 'Course, that won't necessarily be easy. As we saw on the City trailer, Olivia's having a little trouble adjusting to her new gig, thanks in large part to a tumultuous relationship with fellow Elle staffer Erin Kaplan.
"In any work environment, you butt heads with some of your co-workers," Palermo conceded, adding "[y]ou'll see the ups and downs of that relationship through the season."
Still, Olivia says she's excited about the series being more focused on the ladies' careers this time around.
"The show is definitely more work-driven now, which is cool, because I think girls want to see what happens in the fashion industry," Palermo said. And she wants viewers to know she's taking her job very seriously.
"This is business for me. I'm not jumping at fame," clarified the self-proclaimed social. "I love fashion, I love accessories and I wouldn't be in this industry if I wasn't passionate about it."

Whitney Port is definitely learning about the business world on the new season of The City, and she knows the women she works with can teach her a lot about what it takes to cut it in the fashion industry. The people over at Seventeen magazine seemed to think Port's perseverance in the cutthroat industry made her a perfect candidate for the cover of the October issue.
"Diane really taught me a lot about empowering myself as a woman, and in my relationship world, she taught me a lot about appreciating myself and putting myself first," Port said.
This season of The City shows Whitney taking a cue or two from Cutrone as well. While Cutrone and Von Furstenberg may seem like very different people, they gave Port very similar advice.

"She's really boosted my confidence," Port said of the tough-as-nails Cutrone. "And made me believe in myself and really taught me I should just follow my dreams and not be afraid to fail."
A new trailer for The City proves there will be big changes for Whitney Port when the show returns to MTV on Sept. 29.
First of all, her former boss Kelly Cutrone has made Whitney an offer she can’t refuse, to come back to People’s Revolution in New York, working “five, six hours a day” while at the same time working on her own fashion line.
Meanwhile, her former nemesis coworker at Diane Von Furstenberg, Olivia Palermo, is turning her promotion into a new job at Elle, where she’s already clashing with Erin Kaplan, a PR director for the fashion mag.
Since her days on The Hills, Whitney has always been focused on a career in fashion, but there will be two big distractions for her as season 1 continues. First, a pal from Los Angeles, Roxy Olin, has arrived at the doorstep of Whitney’s new West Village apartment, looking for a place to stay and a new job.
Second, of course, is a new guy. With Jay Lyon in her past, Whitney is single and hanging out with a cute new guy named Freddy.
