Lauren Conrad Visits Access Hollywood

http://www.accesshollywood.com/content/images/132/0x600/132434_lauren-conrad-visits-the-access-hollywood-live-set-on-november-5-2010.jpgThe lovely and very stylish Lauren Conrad hosted a show on Access Hollywood Live today featuring clothes from her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s collection and tips from her new book “Lauren Conrad Style.”

The book is chock full of good info and practical advice that works for real women, including how to find the right pair of jeans and how to edit your closet. There is a section on how to create foolproof outfits for every occasion and how to make an outfit your own by adding personal touches.

For our fashion show, Lauren revealed her go-to pieces:

THE WHITE TEE
“The white tee is timeless,” Lauren says. “So many different ways to wear it. You can dress it up, dress it down.” Lauren prefers her tees to be lightweight and a bit slouchy.

THE BLACK MINI DRESS AND THE BLACK HEEL
“You can’t go wrong with the little black dress. So many options out there for every body type,” she says. Of course, the black dress always looks great paired with one of LC’s other go-to pieces… the black heel. Lauren loves black platform pumps and wears them to dress up jeans or look good on the red carpet.

THE SKINNY JEAN
“I love a skinny jean, especially in a dark wash. I hope it sticks around,” Lauren says of her go-to cut. I agree and hope this trend is around for a while too! Lauren says her “skinnies” as she calls them, are the most versatile item in her closet. Her favorite brands are J Brand, Urban Outfitters and Levi’s.

THE OVERSIZE SWEATER
“I love an oversize sweater because I travel all the time,” Lauren says. Hers are mostly lightweight because she lives in California and because she is so dressed up most of the time, in her off-moments she loves to be comfortable. Scoop necks, v-necks and cardigans all play a big part of her wardrobe.

Lauren Conrad: The Craziness in My Life is Over

http://www.celebrity-gossip.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullsize_image/images/l/lauren-conrad-wh-1110-5.jpgLauren Conrad starts shooting for her new show which means one thing--expect to see a lot of her!

Lauren's going to be busy doing the promotional rounds, and boy does she have a lot to promote! Between her new reality show, her new book and designing for Kohl's, Lauren has her plate full right now.

She's featured on the new cover of Women's Health magazine where she talks about post-TV life, she spills the beans about her many new projects and how she squeezes in staying in shape. Here are some highlights...

On her post-TV life:
“A lot of the craziness is over. It’s the calm after the storm.”

On balancing her hectic lifestyle:
“When you are working really hard and you’re really focused on your career, a lot of other things suffer. It takes a lot of effort to have a successful career, have great relationships in your life and have a healthy lifestyle. It’s just about compromise.”

On staying grounded:
“One way to stay grounded in the entertainment industry is to surround yourself with very good people that will constantly remind you how uncool you are. It helps that I have an amazing family and I have really great friends that I’ve had since I was a little kid and they’re all still around me, reminding me how lame I am.”

On producing:
“You know, the next thing I’m probably going to do is getting into producing. For me it’s more about finding the time that I really have to dedicate to the beginning stages because I want the first project I do to be something really special.”

On her other upcoming projects:
“Right now, I’m working on putting together my next book series; working on the Kohl’s line…which has taken up a lot of time and has been really, really fun to do.”

On her success as a writer:
“A little bizarre but really cool.”

On taking on a dozen different projects and squeezing in workouts with her beau:
“It helps if your friends and boyfriend like to work out because then you can kill two birds with one stone.”

On her kickboxing sessions:
“Any way to make a workout feel like playtime is great. The stress just melts away.”

Lauren Conrad Dishes on New Reality TV Show

After leaving the hit reality show the Hills, Lauren Conrad spent a lot of her time working on novels like L.A. Candy. Now, the 24-year-old is talking about a new MTV reality show, but this time, it will be on her terms.

“It is reality, it will be more career based so the main focus is my contemporary line, Paper Crown,” Lauren told reporters on Friday night, “But we’re also looking to focus on other projects I have in television, with Kohl’s, the books that I’m writing – so hopefully it will be all the different things that I get to do.”

Lauren says that although nothing is set in stone yet, she is very excited to do a new series.

“I’m very excited, we start filming next month and we’re still trying to get everybody on board so I don’t have a ton of details yet but I’m really looking forward to it,” the author revealed at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party (click here for pictures).

LC admits that she agreed to do the new show only if she was able to have more input on the content, as opposed to her days on the Hills.

“It was great because I was allowed to lay down ground rules and say this is what I’m willing to put on camera again and this is what I’m not. Everybody is on the same page so I’m very happy going into it.”

And as for guest stars?

“Lo [Bosworth]’s too busy for me! I have my roommate Maura who is running my clothing line so you’ll be seeing her and a couple other of my friends but it will be more of new faces, ones that hid from cameras before.”

With fresh faces, everyone is wondering if Lauren’s boyfriend and fellow actor Kyle Howard will be making an appearance.

“No,” the starlet tells OK!, but says that, “he’s very supportive.”

Lauren Conrad Starting Another Clothing Line

After halting production of her first signature clothing line last year amidst a bleak retail landscape, Lauren Conrad is back at it again, with plans for a new contemporary collection already underway. With her affordable Lauren Conrad collection already being sold at Kohl’s, the former Hills star tells PEOPLE she is starting a new line with several of her best friends.

“It’s a contemporary women’s line,” she revealed to PEOPLE while hosting a party at Las Vegas’s Tao Beach on Saturday. “Where Kohl’s is a lot of daywear, it’s a lot of basics. This will be more specialty basics, more of a boutique line. It will be at a higher price point. It will be very different.”

And while Conrad, 24, said the new collection is just getting started, she can’t contain her excitement. “It’s one thing to work with a huge retailer like Kohl’s and there is so much you get to do, but there is a little more of a thrill of doing it on your own,” she said. “It’s a lot more work, it’s a lot more stressful, but it’s something I love doing so I’m really looking forward to it.” Tell us: are you looking forward to another clothing line from Lauren?

Lauren Conrad: 'The Hills' To Hollywood Mogul

What began as a reality television gig on “Laguna Beach” has turned into a full-fledged multifaceted career, and Lauren Conrad is counting her lucky stars.

The “Hills” babe left her MTV roots to pursue writing bestselling books and designing clothes and it has definitely panned out for her.

Of her first novel “LA Candy,” Conrad explained, "I didn't take anything specifically that happened to me. The only thing that I did was ... it was a way to show not necessarily me, but just the other side of being on a show like ours. For everyone that's done it, I think you see one side and you don't see the other. It's kind of an interesting story to tell."

As for her LC Lauren Conrad clothing brand with Kohl’s, "It's very much a California brand. It's all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard.”

Lauren Conrad's 7 Essential Styling Tips

1. She may have quit The Hills and put her upscale Lauren Conrad Collection on hold, but the reality sweetheart is keeping busy with a best-selling novel, L.A. Candy, and a new label for Kohl's, LC Lauren Conrad. Eighteen chic and easy pieces start at only $20, making stocking up relatively painless.

"I like minis; they really elongate your legs."

2. Although she says it was unintentional, the low-key line suits L.C.'s jet-setting lifestyle of late. "The sweaters are lightweight, soft and oversize—perfect for flying," she says. "I like to be comfortable when I travel, but I can't look gross in sweatpants." If the 23-year-old has learned anything from being trailed by cameras all day long, it's that someone's always watching.

"This sweater is a great layering piece—wear it with or without the belt."

3. "Chiffon is such a pretty fabric, and draping is so chic."

4.  "I wanted skinny, skinny jeans with a bit of stretch."

Jeans, $54; kohls.com

5. "I wear blazers with everything—jeans and a T, or a cocktail dress. It's a very polished look."

Boyfriend blazer, $60; kohls.com

6. "I love the big pockets. Cardigans are so versatile—this works over a sundress or jeans."

7. "It's fun to mix solids and prints. If it's too short, just throw on some tights!"

Lauren Conrad's Simple Skin Routine

Lauren Conrad keeps her skincare routine simple.

The reality TV star - who has her own range of clothes for US store Kohl's - says she has now learned not to use too many products on her face and feels much better for it.

She told People magazine: "I used to use a ton of stuff. I've been going to Kate Somerville for a while now, and through facials and treatments they've weaned down my skincare regimen, which is nice. Now at night, I just use a mild face wash and an oil-free moisturiser."

Lauren is currently creating her next collection for Kohl's and loves being involved in the process.

She said: "I have a delivery coming up in a few months, and it's my favourite yet. Designing is a learning process, but it's been fun. I've fallen more and more in love with it as time's gone on."

The 24-year-old beauty is also looking forward to taking her fashion book, 'Lauren Conrad Style', on tour later this year.

She said: "The style guide was so much fun to do. We start our tour October 5, and I'm really excited."

Lauren Conrad: Lookbook Lady

Showing off some of her latest fashionable offerings, Lauren Conrad recently took part in a 2010 photo shoot for Kohl's Lookbook.

The former MTV reality star donned a variety of her summertime looks, with all of the ensembles being available at Kohl's Web site and department stores.

In related news, LC recently made a return to the small screen by filming a guest spot on Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D-List".

While an air date is yet to be announced, Lauren excitedly tweeted about the opportunity, writing, "Just filmed with Kathy Griffin for My Life on the D list. Fell in love with her mother... Think it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship!"

Lauren Conrad: Fabulous in Fairfax

Having touched down in Washington DC earlier in the day, Lauren Conrad was hot on the promotional trail in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday evening (March 27).

Looking adorable, the former MTV reality star cheerfully signed copies of her book Sweet Little Lies at a local Borders bookstore.

Aside from her writing success, LC continues to expand her fashionable endeavors, having recently teamed up to release a line at Kohl's stores.

Talking about the effort with MTV News, Miss Conrad told, "It's very much a California brand. It's all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard,"

She adds, "I have a few [favorite pieces]. I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket and all those pieces can be traded throughout ... it's a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage."

'Project Runway' Meets 'The Hiils'

Ra'mon Lawrence Coleman went from the runway to The Hills, as he employed his Project Runway skills and worked alongside Lauren Conrad for her spring collection. The season 6 designer didn't exactly make any appearances on the show, since even the star doesn't work there anymore. However, the two of them put their heads and hands together to come up with Conrad's LC Collection for Kohl's.

The designer helped out a lot with the star's collection, highlighting his talents in details. He didn't quite boast of the collaboration though, but there are several obvious similarities in his Project Runway creations to hers. Even fashion blog le petit connaisseur pointed out a number of parallel features.

Also, Coleman already revealed the news back in 2009 and told L'etoile Magazine about his work with the former Hills starlet. "You know me, I'm a guy who likes to juggle many things," Ra'mon Lawrence said.

Anyway, Lauren Conrad's spring collection also draws heavily from the star's own style. It's also pretty affordable too, which is always great news for those who want to pay homage to the Hills and Project Runway stars. Or those who just like good clothes.

Lauren Conrad Talks Spring Fashion Trends

Lauren Conrad has filled up her closet with spring clothes, and she knows the designer pretty well – it’s herself.

Conrad, a former reality star of The Hills, recently launched her own clothing line with Kohl’s department stores and she tells Glamour magazine she’s in love with her own collection.

“With this line, it was kind of meant to be about my style and pieces I want to walk into a store and want to buy. If you're not wearing your own line, you're taking all the fun out of it. I wanted to just fill up my own closet with stuff I love,” Conrad tells the magazine’s Slaves to Fashion.

Conrad gushes about blazers and the hottest piece in her collection: a biker jacket. She also gives advice to Glamour about spring trends like knee socks, hot pants, and watercolor prints.

Conrad says watercolors are a “do” because of the recent Alice in Wonderland fashion-theme trend.

Lauren Conrad Offers Fashion Advice

Lauren Conrad talked with The Rhode Show in Providence, Rhode Island about her new clothing line. She calls the collection a “California-cool look” full of masculine/feminine fashions. There are plenty of layering looks as they fit in with the relaxed, but still chic style.

The spring line will be carried at Kohl’s stores and is available to purchase online. Lauren Conrad’s clothing collection is “fashionable, functional, and very affordable.”

Lauren Conrad's Favorite Designer: Herself!

When Lauren Conrad needs a wardrobe update, she looks no further than her own collection for Kohl's. “I think if you’re not willing to wear your own clothes, you’re doing something wrong. This line was meant to be about my style and pieces I want to walk into a store and want to buy. If you’re not wearing your own line, you’re taking all the fun out of it,” the former reality star tells Glamour.com. Known for her flirty frocks and California cool girl style, Lauren says her staple piece is the blazer. “We have one in every collection, and we usually update it and tweak it a little bit. In this specific collection, I also really love the biker jacket we did.” And come spring, Lauren says she’ll be pairing her sharp toppers with lots of watercolor prints: “I think they’re very romantic and kind of timeless. I almost did too much of it with this collection. When we were shopping for prints with Kohl’s, everything I picked was watercolor and floral. They’re very in because of the whole Alice in Wonderland thing.” However one fashion fad, the style author won’t be trying this season is hot pants. “You can’t wear them to the club, because you’re going to look like one of the dancers, but they could look cute on the beach!” says Lauren. Lauren Brings 'Accessible' Clothing To Kohl's

Lauren Conrad has hooked up with department store Kohl's for her LC by Lauren Conrad clothing brand — if fans have always admired former "Hills" star's laid-back, girly sense of style, now they can achieve the look.

"It's very much a California brand. It's all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying to hard," she told MTV News at a press event for the line, adding that there's a piece in her collection for every occasion.

"I have a few [favorite pieces] ... a favorite piece for what? You have to dress the part!" she laughed. "I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket and all those pieces can be traded throughout ... it's a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage." There's a reason the line is very feminine — LC only has plans to design for the ladies. "I'm not a boy," she joked, adding she's too "selfish" to design clothes that she can't wear herself.

And while there were probably other retailers clamoring to get LC's designs in their stores, she had a very specific reason for working with Kohl's. "They're very accessible. They're everywhere and they're online and they're affordable," she explained. "It was a fun way for me to work with a really great company and to say, 'This is what I think is going to be in in a couple months' and 'This is what I'm gonna wear at a great price point and great quality.' "

LC Lauren Conrad: Laguna Minus High Prices

You can’t doubt the appeal of Lauren Conrad–and apparently Kohl’s agrees, because they’ve signed on for another season of the LC Lauren Conrad clothing line.  Take a peek at some of the things we could actually see ourselves wearing–all of it is marked down to under $40.

(LEFT) This sequin cardigan ($39.99, down from $60) can be worn at night with skinny jeans, or during the day with a pair of relaxed, distressed boyfriend jeans. You choose.

(RIGHT) For something a little more California, try this floral peasant blouse ($21.99, down from $34). Include a belt to punch up the edge factor or go without and still have a subtle sex appeal.

(LEFT) Slip into these cuffed boyfriend jeans ($34.99, down from $54) with various distressed points and pair them with any of the adorable tops from her line.

(RIGHT) We like that this soft spring floral tee ($21.99, down from $34) isn’t overly girly–the neutral colors let you pair it with anything–with jeans, tucked into a pencil skirt, or with shorts.

Get a great pair of jeans to go with everything this spring. For another dose of reality star-turned designer, check out Nicole Richie’s Winter Kate clothing, too. If you think LC Lauren Conrad stuff is a deal, wait until you check out the online sample sales happening today.

Lauren Conrad On Returning To TV - "We'll See."

Lauren Conrad found fame and fans as the star of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," but in 2009 she decided to leave the world of reality TV behind to pursue her interests in fashion design and the literary arts. Now with a successful clothing line at Kohl's and two successful novels under her belt with a third one and a movie adaptation on the way, will Conrad be returning to TV?

Lauren Conrad: Orlando Book Signing

Lauren Conrad does not disappoint her Central Florida fans. The star of MTV’s reality shows Laguna Beach and The Hills is at Borders Books in Winter Park this evening, signing copies of her novel Sweet Little Lies, the second in her L.A. Sweet series.

Dressed in a chic charcoal-gray jacket, tailored short-shorts and black pumps with towering heels, her short nails painted wine-red, the diminutive star enters with little fanfare, takes a seat at a small table on a raised platform, and reaches for a pen.

I expect the 450-or-so fans to errupt in applause, cheers and whistles. Instead, they greet Conrad’s arrival with a kind of awed silence. Then a murmur of excitement ripples down the long, long line snaking among the bookshelves.

“It’s really her,” breathes a young woman in skinny jeans and boyfriend sweater standing behind me, her cell-phone camera trained on Conrad.

And so the signing begins. With a smile, a comment and a quiet, “Thank you,” the 24-year-old author signs books for the fans, mostly young women in their early 20s, who line up for more than two hours for about 30 seconds of the actor/writer/designer’s time.

“I love your show, Lauren.” “I’ve watched every show, Lauren.” “I’m wearing your sweater, Lauren.” (Conrad designs the popular LC Lauren Conrad junior clothing line sold exclusively at Kohl’s.”
